Natural Deodorant Balm
Antiperspirants are laden with chemicals including aluminium which has been linked to health concerns like alzheimer's so it's a good one to remove.
The difference between a natural deodorant & an anti-perspirant is that deodorant will still allow you to sweat. Sweating is a natural bodily function helps our bodys remove toxins but the trick is to keep bacteria & odour at bay. The combination of Bicarb, Tapioca flour & essential oils keep odours at bay & you smelling fresh all day! It can take a few days for your body to adjust so don't give up!
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp baking soda
2 tbsp tapioca flour
2 tbsp coconut oil
20gm Beeswax or 5gm candelilla wax -opt
4 drops tea tree oil
5-6 drops essential oils* of your choice
TOOLS
Tablespoon measure or precise ml measure
Bowl
Pot
Whisk & spatula
Stovetop
Precise scales
Small sterilised repurposed jar 50 - 100ml
METHOD
Sanitise equipment & surface area.
Add a few inches of water to your pot & start to heat ensuring bowl doesn't touch water
Add coconut oil & wax & melt slowly & gently. Add in baking soda & tapioca flour & heat until runny.
Remove from heat & set aside to cool for 5 mins before adding essential oils.
Label jar.
USE
Apply a small pea-sized amount to the palm & warm before applying to the underarms. Apply gently & do not rub in vigorously.
NOTES
A small number of people may be sensitive to baking soda. If irritation occurs stop use.
