How to Reduce waste at home

I began this journey in 2014 with the intention to refuse plastic for a year, hoping my experience might help others reduce theirs too. Over time, that shifted into something softer. Less about perfection, more about small progress. Imperfect low waste living. As a mumma navigating full days, rising costs, and real life, I’ve learnt that reducing waste isn’t about doing everything right. It’s about doing what you can, with what you have. Simple shifts like eating leftovers, freezing food, using scraps, choosing bulk, making one thing at home, and simplifying what we bring in from food to skincare. Less waste, more money staying in our pocket, thoughtful, everyday living.
