You may have heard of using Apple cider vinegar (ACV) as a hair rinse & wondered if you might smell like your favourite salad! ACV may strengthen hair & improve lustre by lowering hair & scalp pH.
It may also keep scalp infections and itchiness at bay. Infusing adds extra healing properties. I generally use this in place of a regular conditioner & use the honey hair treatment monthly & when rinsed off you won't notice the ACV scent at all!
100ml apple cider vinegar
Herbs for infusing - lavender, rosemary or chamomile
Sterilised jar 100ml
Bottle with lid 100ml
Small square of greaseproof paper
Sanitise equipment & surface area.
Add herbs to jar & top with ACV ensuring they are covered to prevent mould.
Place the square of baking paper over the top of the jar & secure the lid.
Infuse for 2 weeks turning occasionally
Remove & compost herbs & add infused ACV to bottle.
Shampoo hair using your regular routine. I love a good shampoo bar.
Tip 1 part ACV into cup & top with approx 10 parts water. Tip over wet hair & rinse.
Keep an old plastic cup in the shower with your rinse for easy mixing.
12 months - always use clean hands when applying to avoid contamination
Mix together in a jar & apply to freshly washed hair. Rinse.
For a conditioning mask I use melted coconut oil applied to the ends overnight & washed out in the morning. You won't need much as a little goes a long way!
