From Scrap to Glow

Turning kitchen scraps into skin-loving rituals

Most of us throw our fruit skins, peel, and coffee grounds straight into the bin or compost without a second thought, but these everyday scraps are packed with skin-loving nutrients that can be repurposed into simple, Imperfect low-waste rituals.

Not only do these simple tips give scraps a second chance, but they also cut down on packaging-heavy products you might otherwise buy… winning on the savings front there too!

This Waste Free Wednesday, we are celebrating with a delicious mini facial you can create from what’s already in your kitchen to get the perfect EcoGlow.

Step 1: Cleanse & Exfoliate

Strawberries - Brighten & smooth
Rub a halved strawberry gently over your face and leave for 5-10 minutes. Their natural acids help lift away dead skin cells, leaving you fresh and glowing. Rinse, pat your skin dry, and we like to finish up with our SACRED Serum for a nourishing glow.

Coffee grounds - Stimulate & energise
Mix leftover coffee grounds, raw sugar, with a drizzle of your favourite olive oil for a quick exfoliating scrub. Find the recipe qualities for the body scrub here. Massage into skin to boost circulation and leave your complexion soft. Rinse off and enjoy your fresh and tingly skin.

Step 2: Soothe & Rejuvenate

Cucumber slices - calm & de-puff and perfect for sleep-deprived Mummas!
Pop chilled cucumber slices over your eyes or rub lightly over the skin after a day in the sun. Their natural antioxidants help soothe irritation and reduce puffiness.

Kiwifruit skin - Revive tired skin
Packed with vitamin C, that fuzzy kiwifruit peel can be gently rubbed over your face to help refresh and rejuvenate dull skin. Kiwifruit contains the natural enzyme actinidin, which aids in both digestion and can help exfoliate the skin. Leave for 5 mins, then rinse, pat your skin dry. For extra points, finish up with our SACRED Serum for a nourishing glow.

Step 3: Deep Nourishment

Avocado skins & seeds - Moisturise & protect
After enjoying your tasty avocado, don’t throw away the skins or seeds; they can be reused, too! Rub the inside of the peel or gently massage the seed over your skin. Rich in vitamins A, D & E, they help moisturise and support collagen production. Rinse off, pat dry and enjoy soft avo nourished skin

Step 4: Seal It In

Once your DIY mini facial is complete, finish with a deeply nourishing oil to lock in all that goodness so we can't go past our favourites!

  • Sacred Facial Serum - A lightweight, balancing oil suitable for all skin types.
  • Forest Face Oil - A richer, woodsy blend designed for deeper hydration and mature skin, perfect before bed to work its magic while you sleep.

Low-waste beauty isn’t about perfection; it’s about simple swaps that give scraps a second chance at life while cutting back on packaging and keeping pennies in your pocket. Imperfection at its best.
